Match results — 5,169 competitive fixtures from 1882 to 2026, drawn from engsoccerdata's complete English league records, football-data.co.uk and the Football Association's own FA Cup results archive.
Season records — league record, final position and leading scorer for 127 seasons, from Wikipedia's “List of Walsall F.C. seasons”.
Players — career appearances and goals for 981 players. The club's own published list counts ALL competitions; the remaining 890, drawn from each player's Wikipedia article, count LEAGUE matches only and are marked with an asterisk. No open source records per-match line-ups, so appearances cannot be broken down match by match.
Goalscorers — 1,113 matches carry a scorer breakdown, taken from the club's Wikipedia season articles. Those exist for 85 seasons (1899-00 to 2026-27), so coverage deepens the closer you get to the present. Earlier matches carry the result but not who scored.
Known gaps — wartime football (1915–1919 and 1939–1945) is excluded. Where two sources disagree on a score or a date, the results datasets are treated as authoritative and the difference is recorded rather than hidden.
